Volkswagen Polo BlueMotion

Very similar to the SEAT, Volkswagen’s Polo BlueMotion is an ultra-efficient diesel car which comes under the 100g/km CO2 benchmark. With 88.3mpg, the VW is an eco-dream of a car.

Ford Focus ECOnetic

 The Focus ECOnetic is a combination of eco-technology and kinetic design, creating a car which is both eco-friendly and fun to drive. Ford have improved the aerodynamics of the Focus to create less drag, which allows the efficient diesel engine to crank out 78 miles to the gallon, with low CO2 emissions of 115g/km.

Smart Fortwo Diesel

The Smart Fortwo is the ultimate small car to nip around in. It’s not built to be spacious, so if you have bucket-loads of luggage, this is probably not the car for your needs, but the Smart Fortwo diesel is currently the “greenest” production diesel vehicle on the market in terms of CO2 emissions. With 88g/km emissions, this Smart is very clean and easy to park too!

Citroën C3

Citroën’s C3 hybrid is a beautiful car and ideal for urban city hire. The vehicle has Stop and Start technology which cuts out the engine automatically when the vehicle is brought to a halt, before pulling away seamlessly without needing to re-start the ignition.

Škoda Octavia Combi

If your car hire demands a slightly larger vehicle but you still want to take a green option then the Škoda Octavia Combi is an excellent choice. The vehicle runs on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) which is not only greener than petrol, it’s also cheaper too.

Honda Civic Hybrid

Mini Cooper D

Probably the most beautiful vechicle in the assembled group, but not the greenist car in this list. The mini has been a style icon for years, and with its re-launch and a few tweaks, the mini cooper manages a respectable 104g/km CO2 emissions and can be driven at 80.7mpg, if you can resist the temptation to floor it!
